President’s Notes for December 2023
Hello…
I just wanted to introduce the OWRC Officers for 2024 and talk about the direction for the Chapter in 2024.
The 2023 Christmas party and Officer Installation was held Friday, 1 December 2023, at the Galaxy Restaurant in Wadsworth. We had 41 members, spouses and guests sign up to attend. We had a good time and a great cookie exchange. It was a great social evening for the Chapter and everyone got a chance to see next year’s officers installed.
We are already planning for next year. We will hold the Christmas Party at the Galaxy, Friday, 6 December 2024, again from 1800 – 2100 hrs. Mark your calendars.

Chapter Elections
Elections were held 15 November at Michael’s AM for Chapter offices for 2024 . The new officers for 2024 were installed at the Christmas Party on 1 December.

Help Wanted
The Chapter is still looking for someone to be the Newsletter Editor. It is not as hard as it sounds, and the chapter really needs someone focused on the Newsletter. I also need a photographer to document the Chapter activities. The Newsletter Editor and the photographer can be the same or different people, a member or spouse. The Chapter needs someone in these positions to keep it vibrant and growing. If you are in the least bit interested, please talk to me.

SAVE THE DATE
The first Membership Meeting of 2024 will be held at Michael’s AM, Wednesday 17 January 2024, 1130 -1300. The meeting will be held Wednesday, in conjunction with the Chapter Executive Board so you can observe the Board meeting. It might get a little complicated, but I think we can pull it off.
I will be posting the calendar for 2024 shortly. Right now we have several dates scheduled.

Dues are Due!
The window to pay Chapter dues is open until 31 January 2024. Dues are $25 for members and $10 for Surviving Spouse. We have prepared the chapter website, and you can visit https://OWRC.net and pay online or get the address of where to mail your payment.

Please go to https://moaa.quorum.us/. This is the MOAA Legislative Action Center and you can read through all the MOAA legislative priorities. When you see a topic you want to support, click on the title and you will be taken to preformatted letters you can have MOAA send to your Senators or Representative.
You will notice there are a lot of topics MOAA is trying to address, and you can return often as you like to send additional letters on a multitude of topics.
