January 2026 President’s Notes

 Presidents’ Notes

I would like this to be in every newsletter. A standing request for the members.

Hello, and I solicit the members to support MOAA’s legislative program every month.
Print this out or make a note and put it by your computer or on your calendar, please.
If you do not have a computer, please go to your library. All libraries in Ohio have
computers. The library staff will train you in how to use them. This request is real simple.

By going through MOAA you are notifying
your representative and senators in Washington D.C. that they need to take
care of military and family members.

So, go online. Type in http://www.moaa.org and click on Advocacy.
Then click on the Legislative Action Center.

You can click on the legislative items that have the word “Write” by them.
You may have to fill out your name, street and city address, and other
items. Once you do this, next time the areas may automatically fill in for
you. So it will be easier and faster the following months.

There are also five areas on the bottom of the screen, like Currently Serving,
Families and Survivors, Retirees and Veterans and more. You may click on
those to see special legislative requests that MOAA is also advocating.
EVERY TIME YOU “VOTE” MOAA CAN TAKE THOSE VOTES TO
OUR ELECTED MEMBERS. THIS SHOWS THEM THE ACTIVE AND
RETIRED AND SURVIVING SPOUSES WANT ACTION!
So please, fellow members, do your part. Send in your requests each month.

    1. I get notification of comments submitted. I have the option of answering them, forwarding them to the appropriate staff for comment, or marking them spam and deleting them. We do not get many comments on this channel but we do get a few. About half are members asking a legitimate question and the other half are junk.
