William L. Edwards, Lieutenant Commander, U.S. Navy (Retired), born August 19, 1921, passed away November 8, 2011. He was the beloved husband of the late Rosemary (nee Miniello); dearest father of Donna Edwards (Robert Cross), Dr. William L. Jr. (Merrilou Collins), Joseph, Mary Beth Garrett (deceased) and Rebecca Edwards; devoted grandfather of Daniel Siddall (Taylor Slemmer), Michael Gattozzi (Lisa Marino), Sarah Meyer (Brent) and Michael Edwards and great-grandfather of Andrew Siddall; dear brother of the following deceased: Frances Murphy, Irby Joe Edwards, James Edwards and Billy Gene Edwards. Mr. Edwards was a member of the following organizations: Military Officers Association of America Ohio Western Reserve Chapter, Military Order of the World Wars Cleveland Chapter, Navy League of the United States Akron Canton Council, Fleet Reserve Association Cleveland Branch 17, Veterans of Foreign Wars Lyndhurst Post 7536, American Legion Post 196 and Fraternal Order of Police Associates Lodge 27. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 11 at St. Clare Church. Interment at Knollwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the DiCICCO AND SONS FUNERAL HOME, 5975 MAYFIELD RD., MAYFIELD HTS. (at Lander Rd.), Thursday, 4 to 8 p.m.
