Charles N. Walker passed away on February 3, 2022 with his nieces Linda, Michele, and Julie by his side. He was born in Akron, Ohio on January 29, 1945 to the late Howard W. and Elma M. Walker. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sue W. Walker. He is also survived by his nieces, Linda Page, Michele Juszczec, and Julie Hurst; his nephews, Douglas Turner, James and Robert Walker; and various great nieces and nephews. His brothers, Howard, James, and Marvin, and his sister, Beverly preceded him in death. Charles graduated from Akron East High School and the University of Akron. He participated in the ROTC program at the university and served his country in the Vietnam War. He reached the rank of captain and was honorably discharged. Charles loved his job as a teacher, and he taught both math and art at Revere high school for 35 years. He was involved with many different extracurricular groups at Revere, but was most proud of his role as student council advisor. He was passionate about his work with student council and was a board member of the Ohio Association of Student Councils. During his years as the advisor he took students to both state and national conferences and workshops. It was at one of these national conferences that he met his wife Sue. Charles and Sue were enthusiastic supporters of the arts, and both of them loved live theater. So it was natural that after retirement Charles and Sue were Redcoat volunteers for many years at Playhouse Square. The family will hold a private service and burial at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date. For those wishing to honor Charles, the family suggests donations in his name be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater East Ohio Area Chapter (330-650-0552).
